Origin of the accomodation in Vienna

Lokal, kreativ, wienerisch:
das Konzept der Superbude Wien
The Superbude’s central theme is locality! From Viennese and with Viennese for Vienna.
We offer theme rooms such as the Austropop Studio, the Birdhouse with a view of the Prater
and a special room in cooperation with SUPERSENSE.
While Hamburg is nautical, Vienna is aviation. Honoring Johann Georg Stuwer, the
namesake of the Stuwerviertel, the hotel will land as an airship at the location of Vienna’s
first hot air balloon ride right at Prater.
At the spot of the coming Superbude Vienna, Mister Stuwer arranged spectacular
pyrotechnical demonstrations 250 years ago as “k. k. privilegierter Kunst- und Luftfeuerwerk”
in front of thousands of viewers. On July 6. 1784 he succeeded in letting his self-built hot air
balloon ascend in this very spot, marking the beginning of manned aviation in Austria.
This theme is continued through all areas of the hotel and guests should meet their
neighborhood, just as in Hamburg. A proper dosage of upcycling and DIY gives the
Superbude’s friends a portion of inspiration to take home.
The start of Superbude Vienna Prater also marks the beginning of an artist in residence
program. This allows one young artist to be accommodated in the Superbude’s atelier for a
few weeks for free.
Mindfulness, environmental awareness, and an honest togetherness: The Superbude wants
to be a place in Vienna for everyone’s individual personalities to contribute to the community.
History is written here and experiences happen that make Superbude to the place that it is -
a home of friends.
